Dawg Schidt in the Park

Dawg Schidt in the Park

Dog Schidt In The Park from Andrew Reid on Vimeo.

Shot on Schidt.  An experimental test of Schidt Optics FF58 PL mount on Olympus OM-D E-M1, entirely handheld.  Full review of the Dog Schidt Optiks Flare Factory 58 (PL Mount) is here:

As Andrew Reid says in his excellent review linked above,

“In the cinema lens industry Hawk Vantage and Cooke cater very well for the emotionally satisfying less clinically perfect, less flat looking lenses.

For us at the more affordable end of the spectrum, Dog Schidt Optiks is the best at doing this.”

An Excellent Collection of Dog Schidt Lenses.

A Lens Collection Full of Schidt.

Speaking of Dog Schidt, let me ask if you know  the story of Jack Schidt?

I used to find myself at a total loss when someone said  “You don’t know Jack Schidt!”  Well, thanks to my wife’s genealogical online research, I can now respond in an intellectual way.  As she relates it to me, story goes something like this.

Jack Schidt is the only son of Awe Schidt. Awe Schidt was a fertilizer magnate, who married O. Schidt, the owner of Needeep N. Schidt, Inc.

They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schidt married Noe Schidt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schidt, Giva Schidt, Fulla Schidt, Bull Schidt and the twins Deep Schidt and Dip Schidt.

Against her parents’ objections, Deep Schidt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schidt divorced. Noe Schidt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schidt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schidt married Loda Schidt, a marriage that produced a son with a rather nervous disposition they named Chicken Schidt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schidt and Giva Schidt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schidt-Happens nuptials. The Schidt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Dawg Schidt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schidt.  Hell bent on creating a line of inexpensive hot Schidt glass, Dawg Schidt went on to found Dog Schidt Opticks, http://dogschidtoptiks.co.uk and the rest, as some say, is soon to become history.

Now when someone says, “You don’t know Jack Schidt,” I can promptly correct them with “Thanks to Andrew Reid, numerous internet contributors and sources, and my wife, I may not actually know Jack Schidt, but I know the history of Schdit including Dog Schidt In The Park.”  Thank you for publishing your Schidt review and video Andrew ;=)
