City of Light

City of Light from H. Paul Moon on Vimeo.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m a complete sucker when it comes to two things:  Paris, France, and great video productions.  Both represent the pinnacle of the arts in my mind, so when they are artfully combined as they are in this H. Paul Moon production, it really gets my juices going.  A fantastic effort from a very promising filmmaker.

For his family and friends in Christmas 2011, Moon shot all the footage 5-10 December 2011 in Paris. The music is by Francis Poulenc: Concerto for Two Pianos performed by the Labèque sisters.

If you’re interested, here are the accompanying still photographs from his visit: bit.ly/cityoflights. And here is a sound environment recording from the Paris Metro: bit.ly/metropolitain.
